I work as head of content at Clozd, a venture-funded startup that provides innovative win-loss services and technology to help companies identify their strengths and weaknesses, improve their win rates, build better products, and strengthen their competitive advantage.
I previously worked as the client story manager for MX. In that role, I managed the editorial process for case studies, reference sheets, internal client stories, and employee highlight stories. I also served as the lead editor for company presentations and other high-priority content, and I created and sent out bi-weekly, company-wide writing lessons.
Before joining MX, I spent nearly six and a half years as a senior copywriter for the Utah Jazz, where I oversaw all the editorial content produced by the team’s marketing department. That included everything from email marketing and digital advertising to video scripts and game stories. I also provided support to the marketing teams in charge of the Delta Center, Salt Lake Bees, and The Zone Sports Network (97.5 FM, 1280 AM).
I was the sports editor for The Daily Universe at BYU, where I was awarded one of four Associated Press Sports Editors national writing scholarships. I also interned for a year at BYU Magazine. I graduated with a BA in communications in 2009 and then began working at the Deseret News covering the Salt Lake Bees, Real Salt Lake, and local high school and college sports. From 2011 to 2013 I worked for FLSmidth, Inc. (an international mineral processing company based in Denmark) where I split time between the global marketing, public relations, and process engineering groups.
I’ve also written for NBA.com and Volleyball Magazine.
I love hiking, riding roller coasters, playing fantasy sports, reading, and coaching youth sports. I live with my wife and three sons in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
